Jorge Parra is an Assistant Professor (2025) in the Electronics Department at the University of Valencia (UV). He received his PhD (2022, extraordinary prize), Master’s (2020), and Bachelor’s (2016) in Telecommunication Engineering from the Polytechnical University of Valencia (UPV). Since 2016, he has been involved in the design, simulation, and characterization of integrated photonic devices combined with functional materials. His research interests include materials with unconventional optoelectronic properties, next-gen electronic and optical devices offering new functionalities such as “memdevices” (devices with in-memory response) and neuromimetic devices, and disruptive communications and computing paradigms (e.g. neuromorphic computing), among others. His work has been recognized with several awards, including the National Award for Best Academic Record from the Spanish Association of Telecommunication Engineers (2021) and the National AtlanTTic Award for the best doctoral thesis in telecommunication technologies from the University of Vigo (2024).
